Esteemable Acts ®

“Be teachable. The hardest thing for many of us is to admit is that we don't know. Once you admit it, you can get on with the business of learning a new skill.”

Self-Esteem Comes From Doing Esteemable Acts ®

Often we think if our intentions are good, we will get the result we want. But in truth it's our actions that guide and dictate our outcome. A very wise man, Dr. Paul Ohliger, once said, "We judge ourselves by our intentions, but the world judges us by our actions." No doubt good intentions count for something, but ultimately the way we feel about ourselves and the way we show up in the world is more about what we do, rather than what we say. It's about the actions we take-the Esteemable actions-that enable us to truly move out of the darkness into the light of our own being.

Each day you'll be inspired to take an action - an Esteemable action - that will move you past your limitations to a place you've likely never known. Each daily inspiration will be a baby step moving you closer to being the person you want to be, moving you closer to being the person Spirit wants you to be. Often people say self-esteem is only about how you feel about yourself. Well hopefully the Esteemable Acts Community will stimulate you into considering that self-esteem is not just about how you treat yourself, but about how you allow others to treat you and how you treat other people. The more willing we are to understand that we live in a world with other people, the more we realize that self-esteem is about how we show up in total.

Meet Francine Ward

Would you listen to a woman who went from a homeless, drug addicted, alcoholic, self-loathing prostitute to a Georgetown educated lawyer, successful businesswoman, twice published author, philanthropist, someone who likes who she is, and who has 27 years of continuous sobriety?

The truth is, who better to tell you about creating a different life than someone who has been there and done that - someone who is living proof that self-esteem comes from doing Esteemable Acts.

Many people have challenges to overcome. Some people actually overcome them. But few do so in such a dramatic & compelling way, and then turn back to help others.

Today Francine's life and work are about helping others walk through the fear that stands between them and genuine self-love. And because change is often hard, better than most people, she understands the importance of staying the course, especially when you want to give up. Francine says, "I was taught that failure was the worst thing that could happen to me in life..., and that if I failed, I was a failure. Then life happened and I failed--a lot! Eventually I realized that from each failure came an opportunity to rise to the next level in my life."

Finally, Francine is dedicated to helping others. She sits on the board of the National Council on Alcoholism and Other Drugs - Bay Area, is an active Rotarian, and volunteers with a number of community service projects that involve abused women, at risk kids, and teen girls. A 1989 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, she is admitted to the New York State Bar, and is a member of the American Bar Association's Intellectual Property Law Section, the National Speakers Association, and the International Coach Federation.
